Halys – Berankis, the dreamed final

Top and second seed of Play In Challenger Lille, Ricardas Berankis and Quentin Halys  will be opposed this Sunday in a final, which is expected to be amazing. 

An another final for Quentin Halys! After Pau and Turin, French player will play his third Challenger final in a raw. He eventually won a so complicated match against his compatriot  Constant Lestienne, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4, in 2 hours and 20 minutes. “He served very well today, I had to play a big match to overcome him and I did the right thing“, reacted native from Bondy, ranked 115th, who, in case of final victory in Lille, could be very closed to his best ranking (102nd in 2018). 

To do so, he will have to defeat in final (this Sunday at 3 pm) top seed fo the tournament, Ricardas Berankis (ranked 87th), which did not meet with any difficulty to oust Czech player  Jonas Forejtek (ranked 327th): 6-4, 6-4.

One break in each set was enough for the Lithuanian player, who managed very well his matches all along the week in Lille, to upset his oppponent, coming from qualifyings. The last head-to-head between Halys and Berankis dates from beginning of February, in Pune – India (ATP 250), which largly turned to the advantage of French player, 6-1, 6-2. Bis repetita ?   

In double, the title came to the team  Durasovic/Niklas Salminen, who knocked out Halys/Eysseric: 7-5, 7-6.
