Belgium tennis player Steve Darcis, after a white year in 2018, and a fantastic start of the season 2019, is expected at Play In Challenger.
What a surprise, and a nice surprise, for tennis fans : Steve Darcis, «the shark», registered Play In Challenger to his calendar this year. For his great come back ATP Tour after one year away from tennis courts due to injury, Belgium player will so come to Tennis Club Lillois Lille Métropole.
Do we still need to introduce Steevy? Former ranked 38th (in May 2017), 2 titles captured on main ATP Tour (Amersfoort in 2007 and Memphis in 2008), 2 times Davis Cup runner up, in 2015 against Great Britain and in 2017 against France (in …Lille at Pierre Mauroy Stadium), it is of course one of the big names of tennis people of the Métropole will have the opportunity to see from next 18th March.
But Steve Darcis, he is before all a state of mind, a warrior, and a player with beautiful and brilliant game, able to upset the best, as his victory against Rafael Nadal in the first round of Wimbledon 2013 witnesses. Besides, we had very early the opportunity to see him at work, since he played for TCLLM at the beginning of his career. Back to the sources…
With the coming of such a player, no doubt the tournament takes another dimension, and it will give the occasion for his numerous fans, in France but also and above all in Belgium, to come and see playing him « at home»!
After a successful come back at the beginning of January with a semi final in Pune (ATP 250), let’s wish Steve to be back at his best level, and to be at 100% physically, to make us dream again, as he will have 35 a few days before the Play In Challenger…
